To approve the procurement of a 4
year contract for the supply of waste and recycling containers for
properties located within North Northamptonshire

KEY DECISION
 
That the Executive:
 

i)         
Approved the recommendation to
arrange a four-year agreement for the supply, storage and delivery
of Waste and Recycling Containers

 

ii)       
Delegated authority to the
Executive Director of Place and Economy in consultation with the
Executive Member for Assets, Waste and Environmental Services to
make decisions required to make the arrangements.
 
 

Reasons for
Recommendations:

 

•          
Provision of a clear contractual
pricing structure will support the Council’s budget
forecasting for the next 4 years.

•          
Ensures the Council has a secure
and reliable supply of waste and recycling containers for
households and commercial businesses within North
Northamptonshire

•          
Accommodates population growth,
new services and the ‘business as usual’ replacements
for lost and damaged containers

•          
Promotes and delivers a harmonised
service, which encourages every householder and participating
business to recycle their waste.

 

Alternative Options Considered:
Consideration for the provision of single use containers in the
form of flexible film plastic liners, was given. However, on the
basis of both costs and logistics burden for ongoing delivery to
all domestic properties this option was discounted.
