Reasons for the decision

North Northamptonshire recognises the importance of responding to concerns raised by residents and the Police regarding the safety of park users and skaters. It was therefore agreed at planning that once the new skatepark is constructed, the existing skatepark should be demolished and removed to prevent any potential antisocial behaviour issues. Following a three quote procurement exercise, a contract is now being awarded for the demolition and removal of the old skatepark.
