RESOLVED
KEY DECISION
That the Executive :
(a)
Approved the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping
Strategy 2024-2029.
(b)
Supported the proposal to use the North
Northamptonshire Homelessness Forum to
monitor and deliver the action
plan underpinning the
strategy.
(c)
Delegated authority to Executive Member for Housing,
Communities and Levelling Up in consultation with the Executive
Director of Adults, Health Partnerships and Housing to oversee the
delivery of the strategy and action plan.
Reasons for Recommendations:
·
To ensure the Council is fulfilling its statutory
requirements in accordance with the Homelessness Act
2002.
·
To help deliver against the priorities outlined
within the Council’s Corporate Plan to achieve active,
fulfilled lives within the communities in North Northamptonshire
and to create safe and thriving places.
·
To enable the Council and its partners to have an
agreed framework of actions as outlined within the strategy to help
prevent and reduce homelessness and rough sleeping
locally.
Alternative Options Considered: The Council could choose not to
approve the new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2024-2029,
but this will delay implementation and risk the Council not meeting
its statutory requirements.
