To
approve, under delegated decision, to apportion associated grant
funding amounting £76,400 to NHFT to enable the
Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to deliver a
one-year
Infant-feeding Community Initiatives Pilot, that will deliver a
Latch Support Service, BFI accreditation across family hub sites
and an annual workforce development plan.
The Latch
Support Service will provide wraparound feeding support targeted at
infants with suspected tongue ties. The service will comprise
fortnightly drop-in sessions held in one or two localities, to be
agreed upon alongside locality co-production.
The NHFT Infant
Feeding Team will establish a one-year BFI accreditation project to
initially support North Northants Family Hubs in obtaining stage
one accreditation in sites, to be agreed upon alongside locality
co-production. However, if stage 1 is completed ahead of schedule,
a decision on progressing to stage 2 or stage 3 will need to be
agreed upon. The initiative aims to create a supportive
infrastructure that promotes breastfeeding and evidence-based
infant feeding practices within Family Hub sites, ultimately
improving maternal and infant health outcomes.
