About

The Community Scrutiny Committee scrutinises the work of the Council's Cabinet and the full Council, providing a platform for public input on local matters. It conducts public inquiries into issues of local concern, producing reports and recommendations to advise the Cabinet and Council on policies, budgets, and service delivery.

The committee also monitors Cabinet decisions, with the power to 'call-in' decisions before they are implemented to assess their appropriateness and recommend reconsideration. It may also be consulted by the Cabinet or Council on future decisions and policy development.
