Purpose

This report will update committee on the Arts
service vision and service provision following the
committee’s recent visit to Orleans House Gallery.

Content

RESOLVED: That the committee,
1. Note and advocate for the
service’s strategic convening role in developing creative and
cultural ecosystems to strengthen the contribution partners can
make to delivering the cultural strategy.
2. Note and advocate for the
service’s strategic role to embed culture and creativity
across a wider range of council services and programmes, including
placemaking, resident engagement, children and young people,
climate and health.
3. Note the proposed direction of the
Orleans House Gallery and approve the key areas of
development for inclusion in the service’s public programme
2026 to 2029.
4. Support the ambitions for arts,
culture and creativity through strategic relationship building,
including with potential funders, community engagement, and other
channels open to members.
