Purpose
To seek approval to introduce new lengths of
double yellow line/At any time waiting restrictions on an emergency
basis to discourage obstructive parking on Sudbrook Lane.
Content
The SSA Executive Director of Environment and
Community Services approves under Section 14 of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act (RTRA) 1984, the introduction of the following on
personal safety grounds as per plan shown at APPENDIX C:
i) At Any Time (Double yellow line) waiting restrictions in
Sudbrook Lane, to provide emergency vehicle access at all
times;
ii) Single yellow line waiting restrictions at the south-eastern
end of Sudbrook Ln (operating 1am-midnight throughout the week), to
provide on-street parking for Hazel Lane residents by initially
granting residents temporary free of charge parking dispensations
followed by consultation on the possibility of introducing a
controlled parking zone as described in paragraphs 3.10 and
3.11;
iii) At Any Time (Double yellow line) waiting restrictions in
Dickens Close, to provide emergency vehicle access at all times in
anticipation of any parking displacement;
iv) A statutory public consultation is undertaken under Section 6
of the RTRA 1984 to promote amended permanent arrangements within
18 months of the emergency restrictions being introduced.
