Purpose
To report the results of a consultation
regarding proposed traffic reduction, school safety and parking
proposals. The report sets out the summary of responses, key
comments made and proposes a plan of action moving forwards.
The Council consulted residents in March 2023 to seek views
regarding traffic and safety concerns on the Wykham Estate. The
outcome of this suggested that residents have concerns regarding
traffic and road safety issues and as a result the Council
developed a package of measures aimed at reducing traffic,
improving safety, and regulating parking.
Content
The SSA Executive Director of Environment and
Community Services:
i) Notes the representations received to the informal public
consultation outlined in APPENDIX C;
ii) Agrees to proceed with the scheme as consulted on and as shown
in APPENDIX B and approves:
- the advertisement of a Traffic Management Order under Section 9
of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 for school street
restrictions and one-way sections of road as outlined.
- the advertisement of a Traffic Management Order under Section 6
of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 for various sections of
‘At Any Time’ waiting restriction (double yellow lines)
as outlined.
- Agrees to the various sections of footway parking exemptions
under the Greater London Council (general powers) 1974 act as
outlined.
