RESOLVED that the Transport & Air
Quality Committee
i.
This report is intended to provide information on the current air
quality monitoring arrangements, trends in data and outline current
areas of exceedance of the UK objectives in the borough of Richmond
upon Thames.
ii.
Committee are recommended to agree the process to deliver a new Air
Quality Action Plan for 2024-29, including the process to be
followed and the scope of any non-statutory consultation.
iii.
Committee are recommended to consider the adoption of the Interim
World Health Organization Guidelines for air pollution in the
borough.
iv.
Committee are recommended to consider the service provision and a
sustainable funding stream for the Air Quality Programme, currently
supplemented through the Climate Change Fund.
v.
Committee requests that the Chair of the Transport and Air Quality
Committee write to the Mayor of London demanding improvement to air
quality on the A205 (TfL road) which is the borough’s highest
exceedance site.
