Wykeham Estate Traffic Measures - results of public engagement exercise

July 28, 2023 Executive Director of Environment and Community Services (Officer) Approved View on council website
Full council record
Purpose

For some time, the Council has received
complaints from residents with regards to traffic volume and road
safety concerns, notably on Longford Road, within the Wykeham
Estate, due to traffic cutting through the estate, and traffic
associated with the nearby schools. These have been more regular
since the opening of Turing House School. The concerns raised
highlight the potential conflict with traffic meeting head on in
these narrow, and often heavily parked, roads. Concerns have also
been raised around the safety of pedestrians and cyclists when
traffic volume is high, as well as reports of road rage
incidents.
