Purpose

This report reviews affordable housing
delivery in Richmond Borough (‘the Borough’) over the
financial year 2023/24 and the work the Council will undertake with
developers, Registered Providers (RPs) and other affordable housing
providers (such as Almshouse Charities) to deliver and increase
affordable housing provision in future years.

Content

RESOLVED: That the Committee:
 
a) 
APPROVED the Council
acquiring 17 properties in the Borough with the support of the
Local Housing Authority Fund Round 3 funding allocated to the
Council by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and
Communities. 
b) 
APPROVED the Council
retaining its affordability criteria for intermediate
housing. 
c) 
APPROVED the use of the
Supported Living Design Brief to provide clear advice on the
Council’s expectations regarding wheelchair housing standards
and incorporate it into pre-planning and planning application
feedback advice. 
d) 
APPROVED capital budget
growth of £7.65m in 2024/25 to support the acquisition of
properties.
