Full council record
Purpose

In response to concerns raised over traffic
congestion on Lonsdale Road, in the vicinity of Barnes Sports Club,
particularly at peak school time, a site assessment was undertaken
which showed significant queueing resulting from parked vehicles on
both sides of the road. This results in blocking for local bus
routes, difficulties for northbound cyclists and potential for
vehicle damage and incidents of driver frustration. Following
discussion with ward Councillors, a proposal was developed for an
extension to existing double yellow line ‘At Any Time’
waiting restrictions on the ‘river’ side of the road.
This proposal will improve traffic conditions and free up the
existing northbound cycle lane.
