Purpose

The report outlines a major junction scheme to
be undertaken by Transport for London on the A316 Chertsey Road for
which they remain the highway authority.

The scheme involves traffic signalisation of the A316 London Road
roundabout introduction of new pedestrian and cycle crossings and
construction of a new Toucan crossing at its junction with Cole
Park Road.

The report is for approval to introduce elements that form part of
the LBRuT highway network.

Content

The SSA Executive Director of Environment and
Community Services:

i) Notes the general arrangements for the Transport for London
(TfL) junction improvement scheme as detailed in Section 3.

ii) Approves LBRuT to enter into an agreement with TfL for an
Improvement Works Agreement pursuant to S.8 of the Highways Act,
1980 (to allow TfL and its contractors to work on LBRuT
Highway).
