About

The Central Local Area Committee, comprising councillors from the Broomhill & Sharrow Vale, Hillsborough, Walkley, and City Wards, is responsible for empowering communities and increasing their control over local decision-making. It provides a framework for prioritising and directing the delivery of council services, and oversees the creation of annual Area Committee Plans based on resident priorities. The committee works with local partners and voluntary organisations to ensure services meet community needs, monitors the delivery of these plans, and is empowered to set priorities and direct resources. While meetings are open to the public, the committee's remit excludes individual planning or licensing applications, judicial matters, and confidential information.
