The Surrey Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB) and Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), including representation from Frimley Integrated Care Board, now meet together with a shared membership. This group consists of senior representatives from key organisations focused on improving the health and wellbeing of Surrey’s population with a shared focus on the needs those facing the poorest health outcomes, aiming to reduce health inequalities so no one is left behind.

It is the responsibility of the Surrey HWB to develop the Surrey Health and Well-being Strategy, Joint Strategic Needs Assessment and the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment.

The Surrey Heartlands ICP has a responsibility to develop the Integrated Care Strategy. Ambition 1 (Prevention) of the Integrated Care Strategy which mirrors the Health and Well-being Strategy, ensuring a shared oversight of delivery on prevention and Health Inequalities.

The ICP and the HWB each have their own terms of reference which are covered by a shared Memorandum of Understanding (PDF) that means they can meet together.  In order to undertake the system leadership role, the combined meeting of the HWB and ICP meets in public four times a year in a formal capacity (these meetings will be public and webcast), it meets informally in private four times a year and hold a Deep Dive or “Walkabout” in a town, village or HWB Strategy/ IC Strategy Key Neighbourhood across the four Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care System (ICS) Places four times a year. These will include Frimley ICS where these neighbour or include areas within their boundary.

Formal meetings are webcast on Surrey County Council’s website and papers are made available prior to the meeting.

Time is reserved at each formal meeting for members of the public to ask questions pertaining to the responsibilities of the Health and Wellbeing Board.
