That Cabinet note the findings of the Climate
Change Assessment and approve areas of future focus.

RESOLVED:
That Cabinet note the findings of
the Climate Change Progress Reportwhich sets out progress against
Surrey-wide and Council carbon emission reduction targets up to
March 2025 - including the delivery of key projects.
That Cabinet note the ongoing
actions and consultations being undertaken to develop the
‘Transition Plan’ and proposed 10-year Strategy –
including a 5-year ‘outcomes framework’ – for
consideration by future Unitary Authorities. Further scrutiny of
these items will be bought to Cabinet in Spring 2026.
Reasons for
Decisions:
In November 2024, following a recommendation
from the Community, Environment and Highways Select Committee,
Cabinet approved work to develop of the next 5-year plan to cover
the next phase of delivering the Climate Change Strategy up to
2030.
