This decision was made to secure sufficient accommodation within the authority's area that meets the needs of children the local authority is looking after. The decision included a commitment of £34 million of capital funding for renovation and development of Children's homes between 2020 and 2023, delivering five new-build children's homes and a total of +16 beds.
