Purpose

The council’s two main contracts for waste disposal and
materials sorting will come to the end of their initial terms on
31st March 2027. Both contracts include extension provisions.

The report presents the outcome of the waste disposal services
contracting options appraisal, with recommendations on the use of
contract extension provisions or alternative contracting approaches
from 1st April 2027 onwards.
