Purpose

Following the publication of the Phase 2 Report of the Grenfell
Tower Inquiry, a report was presented at full council on 20
November 2024.

That report acknowledged the Inquiry's findings and implications
and supported the development a joint position statement with key
partners.

This report sets out the council’s newly drafted Partnership
Position statement which has been developed jointly with our key
partners who include the London Fire Brigade, THHF, the Borough
Resilience Forum and other key stakeholders.

The Partnership Position statement outlines our strategic
commitment to implementing the recommendations from the Phase 2
Report and learning from the shortcomings observed at Royal Borough
of Kensington and Chelsea.

DECISION:
 

1.    
To endorse the Tower Hamlets Partnership Position Statement
(Appendix 1 to the report) made in response to the recommendations
arising from the Phase 2 Report of the Grenfell Tower
Inquiry.

 

2.    
To note the development of an action plan for the council
(Appendix 2 to the report) and progress against these actions,
following the Phase 2 Grenfell Tower Inquiry’s
recommendations.
