Summary

Full council record
Purpose
Responsibility for commissioning the statutory 0-5 Specialist
Community Public Health Nursing services (Health Visiting)
transferred from NHS England to the Council on 1st October 2015.
These services are currently delivered in Tower Hamlets by one
provider, Tower Hamlets GP Care Group CIC. The current contract for
the service expires on 31/03/2026 and we are seeking approval to
initiate the re-procurement process.
The proposed contract length is 4+2 years, in line with pan-London
benchmarking and the proposed contract value is higher than the
present value, as the contract value has not increased to fully
reflect inflationary and/or pay uplifts since 2016; nor has it
increased in line with the higher number of births.
On this basis, the Mayor in Cabinet is asked to approve the
contracting approach for the re-procurement of this statutory
service, including both proposed contract length and value.
