Purpose

The Council has
worked in partnership with residents and partners to co-produce a
new 10-year strategic vision, called Our Tower Hamlets
2035.

This vision outlines what we want Tower Hamlets to be like by
2035, our shared ambitions, and how we will work together to
achieve them.

Content

DECISION

 

1.    
Approves the Strategic Vision, Our Tower Hamlets 2025-2035,
that is set out in Appendix 1 of the report submitted.

2.    
Notes the engagement with residents, partners, staff and
elected members to develop the strategy as set out in Appendix 2 of
the report submitted.

3.    
Notes the results of the equality screening as set out in
paragraph 4.1 of the report submitted.

4.    
Notes the proposals for implementation, that is set out in
Appendix 3 of the report submitted. 

Reasons for the decision

Having a new
strategic vision will support the Council to strengthen
relationships with local people and organisations and enable work
together on shared ambitions.
 
The Council has
committed to co-create a long-term strategic vision that reflects
our shared ambitions for the borough in the Best Value Continuous
Improvement Plan. 

Alternative options considered

The Council can
decide not to adopt this new strategic vision. However, this this
is not recommended as the Council has previously committed to
agreeing and implementing a shared vision for the
borough.
