Purpose
In accordance
with constitutional requirements, the Cabinet is responsible for
reviewing the Youth Justice Strategic Plan. This plan outlines the
strategic priorities and goals of the Youth Justice Executive
Board, as well as the direction for operational frontline service
delivery.
This report highlights the progress made over the past 12
months in relation to the identified priority areas and sets out
our ambitions and objectives for the next three years.

Approves the development of a Youth Justice Strategy As part
of our ongoing commitment to building safer communities and
delivering improved outcomes for some of the most vulnerable
children, the Cabinet is asked to support the development of a
Youth Justice Strategy. This is not only a statutory requirement of
the Youth Justice Board but also an opportunity for the Partnership
to reflect on past achievements and identify priorities for
continued improvement over the coming years.

Endorses the Youth Justice Strategic Plan 2025–2028 The
Cabinet is asked to formally endorse the Youth Justice Strategic
Plan for the period 2025 to 2028, which outlines the strategic
direction, priorities, and actions to be taken in support of youth
justice outcomes.

Notes the Equalities Impact Assessment The Cabinet is asked
to note the Equalities Impact Assessment associated with the Youth
Justice Strategic Plan, ensuring that equality considerations have
been fully integrated into the strategy’s development and
implementation.
