Purpose

In May 2025, the Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee
(CESSC) published a report on
Child Healthy Weight, following the Challenge Session held in
November 2023. The CESSC made 8 recommendations to further
strengthen existing efforts across Tower Hamlets improve child
healthy weight across Tower Hamlets across the following
themes:
1. Food
2. Physical Activity
3. Psychology and Culture

In response to the recommendations, Public Health in partnership
with colleagues across the Council have developed a Child Healthy
Weight Scrutiny Challenge Session – Action Plan, which has
been incorporated into our existing Child Healthy Weight
Action.
