Purpose

This report relates to the Sandhurst Neighbourhood Development Plan and the Council’s representations to the Regulation 16 consultation. 

Decision

RESOLVED – That the table of comments presented at Appendix A be submitted as Tunbridge Wells Borough Council’s representations to the Regulation 16 consultation on the Sandhurst Neighbourhood Plan Submission Version be approved.

Reasons for the decision

To endorse the proposed recommendations to the Regulation 16 consultation would enable TWBC to continue to provide advice and guidance to the Sandhurst Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group and engage in the consultation process.

Alternative options considered

Do nothing – This would involve TWBC not continuing to provide advice and guidance that has been available for the neighbourhood plan group during the preparation of the draft Sandhurst Neighbourhood Plan.

Submit alternative representations – The representations presented at Appendix A reflect advice and comments from a range of TWBC professional officers in the planning department.  To submit alternative representations would require additional liaison and discussion with officers with some indication from the Portfolio Holder as to what alternatives the officers were being asked to consider.  This could mean the deadline is not met.
