Purpose

This
report seeks approval for and adoption of the Borough Climate
Change Strategy.

Decision

RESOLVED-  That Full
Council be Recommended:

To agree the Borough Climate Change
Strategy.

To agree to re-align the borough net zero target to
2050, in line with the Climate Change Act 2008.

To agree that the 2050 borough net zero target is to
supersede the initial 2030 borough target element of the 2019
climate and biodiversity motion and declaration referred to in
paragraph 1.2.

 
REASON FOR DECISION:  To align to the Climate Change Act
2008 would commit the Borough to achieving net zero by
2050.
