Purpose
Update
on term contractor and assignment of contract following DCB Kent
Ltd going into administration.
Decision
RESOLVED –
That J Cheesmur and Sons (Lewes) Ltd T/A Cheesmur
Building Contractors be appointed to carry out maintenance and
responsive repairs, as agreed within the Letter of Intent dated 25
July 2022 and as recommended in the report be approved.
That delegated authority be given to the Head of
Economic Development and Property, the Director of Finance, Policy
and Development and in consultation with the Monitoring Officer and
the Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property to award the contract
to the contractor and complete the contract for the delivery of the
minor maintenance and responsive repairs be approved.
REASON FOR DECISION: To
ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations under the Local
Government Act 1972 and continues to represent best
value.
