Purpose
The Cabinet Member will consider the Evolving
Workplace programme to improve the operation and utilisation of key
Council properties across the city.
Decision
Summary of Decision: The Cabinet Member
for Finance & Council Reform approved expenditure up to
£2,000,000 from the dedicated Evolving Workspace Programme
capital budget.
Reasons for Decision: The Evolving
Workplace Programme is the delivery vehicle for several key
projects that support the Council’s wider objectives. Without
this programme, the required adaptations to key officer workplaces
cannot be undertaken, nor can the rationalisation of key workplaces
occur. The approval sought in this report will deliver a
fit-for-purpose working environment for officers to deliver the
best services for communities, assist in embedding The Westminster
Way through their physical working environment and deliver both
income generation opportunities and savings.
The approval sought in this paper will enable
the rationalisation of the Council’s operational estate which
will in the first instance deliver new income of £800,000 per
annum for a five-year period and savings of circa £500,000
per annum for the same period.
