Purpose: This report is the second of a series of on-going series noting reports to for the Highways service to highlight the delivery of projects across the borough. The first report of this series was presented to Cabinet on 8th January and set out the delivery of the service in 2024. This report will detail the delivery since December 2024 to the end of June 2025 and ask the Mayor to endorse the service’s continued plan inward investment and future plans.
Content: DECISION: 1. notes and provided comments on the update. 2. Endorses the progression and investigation of the works programmes as follows: 1- Deliver the 3-year programme Local Implementation Plan 2- Deliver the annual carriageway maintenance programme 3- Deliver the annual footway maintenance programme 4- For officers to investigate a Fully Accessible Network (pedestrian dropped kerb programme) 5- For officers to investigate packages of active travel measure that aligns with the clean and green future priority and compliments the ongoing works programme of tree planting, supporting electric vehicle programme.
Reasons for the decision: To help promote a sustained culture of delivery in line with the council’s objectives.
Alternative options considered: The Mayor could decide to endorse other options.
