Decision
Regulator of Social Housing Inspection Outcome
Decision Maker: Cabinet
Outcome: Recommendations Approved
Is Key Decision?: No
Is Callable In?: No
Date of Decision: July 30, 2025
Purpose:
Content: DECISION The Mayor in Sub-Committee RESOLVED; 1. Notes the Regulatory Judgement as at Appendix 1 of the report submitted. 2. Notes the progress made since self-referral in October 2024 in addressing the standards across our Housing Management Service. 3. Notes the update on our Your Voice, Our Action: Safe Homes, Great Services 4. Improvement Programme as at p1.30-p.140 of the report submitted.
Reasons for the decision: The Regulatory Judgement is the RSH’s published assessment of our Housing Management service and how well we are delivering outcomes for our residents. We are sharing this judgement with Cabinet to provide assurance that whilst the C3 Grading means we are not meeting all of the standards, the Council has a robust improvement programme in place to address the failings and improve services for residents. All of the issues identified within the judgement are those which had been reported in advance of the inspection to the RSH as part of our self-referral and we are already making progress in addressing the issues. This progress is detailed within the report and the ongoing delivery of the improvements will be overseen by the Housing Management Cabinet Sub Committee.
Alternative options considered: There is no alternative option. The RSH has published their judgement and the findings within it will continue to form the basis of our improvement plan.
