Purpose:

Content: DECISION   The Mayor in Sub-Committee is RESOLVED that:   1.     approves the Council’s Annual Complaint Performance Report for 2024-25 as at Appendix 1 in the report submitted.   2.     approves the Council’s annual self-assessment as at Appendix 2 against the HO’s statutory complaint handling code.

Reasons for the decision: Under the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, the HO’s complaint handling code became statutory on 1 April 2024, meaning that landlords are obliged by law to follow its requirements. Therefore, the Council needs to complete and publish its self-assessment of its compliance as part of its annual service report. 

Alternative options considered: There are no alternative options as outlined above, this is a statutory requirement as set out in the Social Regulation Act 2023.
