Purpose: The Council is renewing its corporate Digital Strategy to align with its commitments to the corporate plan and wellbeing objectives. This involves creating new objectives and defining steps to achieve them, focusing on key themes: Citizens and Communities: Developing digital services tailored to citizens' needs. A Digital Council: Embedding digital culture in work practices. Our Workforce: Supporting staff through digital changes. Our Infrastructure and Systems: Ensuring Cardiff has the technical infrastructure to support service delivery. Actions are categorised into three phases: Now, Next, and Later. The "Now" phase includes initiatives to be completed within two years. The "Next" phase focuses on medium-term activities, while the "Later" phase outlines long-term goals for future technology use. Central monitoring and governance will ensure effective delivery, enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency for the benefit of citizens and communities. The Cabinet will be updated on the emerging digital strategy, achievements to date, current governance, and ongoing digital activities.
Content: RESOLVED; that 1. the progress made since the introduction of the first digital strategy in 2018 be noted. 2. the Council’s proposed digital strategy as included at Appendix 1 be approved. 3. the governance framework for Digital Projects as set out in the strategy be approved.
