The Joint Consultative Committee was scheduled to discuss the Facilities Time / Recognition Agreement and the Pay Award for 2026/27. The meeting also included the agreement of previous minutes and an HR Risk Assessment.
Facilities Time / Recognition Agreement
The committee was scheduled to discuss the Facilities Time / Recognition Agreement, which is a framework that formally recognises the GMB and Unite trade unions. This agreement is intended to replace an outdated version from 2000 and incorporate recent changes to employment law. It aims to clarify the scope of trade union representation, strengthen collective bargaining and consultation arrangements, and reflect current organisational structures and work practices.
Pay Award 2026/27
A significant portion of the meeting was scheduled to focus on the Pay Award for 2026/27. This included discussions on a pay award claim presented by the Trade Union representatives, as well as input from the Chief People Officer. The committee was also scheduled to hear from the Chief People Officer regarding Ambition 25,
a strategic initiative by the City Corporation.
Minutes and Other Business
The committee was scheduled to agree the public minutes and non-public summary of the previous Joint Consultative Committee meeting held on 10 February 2026. Additionally, there were provisions for questions on matters relating to the committee's work and any other urgent business that the Chair considered appropriate. The agenda also indicated that the public would be excluded for certain items of business, including an HR Risk Assessment and confidential minutes from the previous meeting.
