These amendments focused on reducing the bulk and mass of the sports hall building, particularly its western elevation, to improve its visual relationship with neighbouring properties in Charlbury Close. Changes included reducing the height of the western façade to a single storey at the first-floor level and incorporating articulated brickwork and recessed panels to enhance the building's appearance.

Concerns raised by local residents during consultations included potential impacts on neighbouring amenity from noise, disturbance, and visual intrusion, as well as issues related to construction traffic, operational hours, and highway safety. The report pack noted that Maidstone Borough Council had withdrawn its objection after the design amendments were made.
