The Licensing Sub-Committee met on 9 March 2010 and agreed to defer a decision on an application to transfer a premises licence and change the Designated Premises Supervisor at Status Food and Wine. The meeting also confirmed the committee's operating procedures.
Opposed Application to Transfer Premises Licence and Change Designated Premises Supervisor at Status Food and Wine
The Sub-committee considered an opposed application to transfer the premises licence and change the Designated Premises Supervisor (D.P.S.) at Status Food and Wine
, located at 205 Waldegrave Road, Teddington. The Metropolitan Police had submitted a representation against the application.
At the hearing, a representative from the Metropolitan Police requested that the hearing be deferred. This was because the individual nominated as the new D.P.S. was scheduled to appear at Richmond Magistrates' Court later in the week for a related matter. The proposed D.P.S. did not attend the meeting.
The Sub-committee agreed to the request, deeming it to be in the public interest. The Safer Neighbourhood Team Sergeant from Teddington Police Station spoke on behalf of the Metropolitan Police.
Procedure
The Sub-committee confirmed the procedure set out in the Council's Licensing Sub-committee Procedures. This document outlines the rules and guidelines the committee follows when conducting its business.
The meeting was attended by Councillor Treble (Chair), Councillor Khosa, and Councillor Urquhart. Also present were Guy Bishop, Licensing and Litigation Solicitor from the Council's Legal and Electoral Services Department, Barry Croft, Licensing Team Leader, and John Giffin, Licensing Committee Manager. The meeting commenced at 7:06pm and concluded at 7:18pm.
