The Surrey Pension Fund Committee is scheduled to meet on Monday 14 September 2026 to review the performance and financial position of the pension fund. Surrey Pension Team Overview - Quarter 1
The committee is scheduled to receive an overview of the Surrey Pension Team's activities for the first quarter of the financial year, covering April to June 2026. This report will provide a macro-level view of the service, utilising the Surrey Pension Team Dashboard as its primary tool. It will also include brief updates on completed items and previously reported matters.
Investment and Funding Level Update
A report is scheduled to be presented that summarises the fund's investment positioning, activity, and performance. This will include a review of the current funding ratio, which compares the value of the fund's assets to its liabilities. A Part 2 annex is also available for this item.
Responsible Investment Update
The committee is set to review the fund's commitment to responsible stewardship of its assets. This will involve examining votes cast directly by the fund at company meetings and considering the voting and engagement activities of its partners, such as investment managers and the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum (LAPFF).
Review of the Risk Methodology
This item concerns the outcome of a review into the fund's risk methodology. The report details a proposed revised likelihood scoring approach and an expanded impact framework, which has already been considered and endorsed by the Local Pension Board. Committee approval is sought to implement these revisions as part of the fund's risk management framework.
Q1 Budget Monitoring Report 2026/27
The committee will be presented with details of the Pension Fund's financial position for the first quarter of the 2026/27 financial year, as of 30 June 2026. This report will outline the revenue and expenditure budget position.
Summary of the Surrey Local Pension Board
A summary of the administration and governance issues reviewed by the Local Pension Board at its meeting on 21 July 2026 is scheduled for discussion.
Recent Developments in LGPS (Background Paper)
This report will consider recent developments within the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
Draft Annual Report 2025/26
The committee will receive an update on the production of the Pension Fund Annual Report for 2025/26. The report will include the draft accounts and will be presented in line with guidance from the Scheme Advisory Board.
Implementation of Single Purpose Pension Authority
A report is scheduled concerning the implementation of a single purpose pension authority. This will be discussed in Part 2 of the meeting, indicating that it may involve exempt information.
