Alexandra Park Outdoor Events Report

A report was scheduled to be presented on the delivery of Alexandra Palace's outdoor events programme for 2026. This included feedback from residents on the 2025 Summer Series and the operational improvements made in response for 2026. The report detailed measures taken to address concerns regarding taxi pick-up points, parking suspensions, and bus route diversions. It also covered operational changes such as the introduction of white-noise warning systems for plant and machinery and the addition of a new entrance gate on the west side of the site. The report was expected to provide an update on sound management, noting that recorded sound levels did not exceed permitted thresholds, and that no instances of permitted levels being exceeded occurred during any event. It also highlighted the presence of the Metropolitan Police on site for a visible, reassuring presence.

Panorama Room Replacement Project Update

The committee was to be updated on the progress of the Panorama Room Replacement Project. The existing structure, in operation since 2003, was reported to be failing and no longer fit for purpose. The replacement project aims to improve sustainability, accessibility, and structural performance, while minimising future interventions to the listed building. The report outlined the procurement process, with StarLive appointed as the Main Contractor, and detailed the planning and listed building consent process, including pre-application meetings with Haringey Council. The new Panorama Room is planned to be a single-storey structure with integrated facilities, and the project is expected to cost approximately £3.5 million, with funding sought through a loan from Haringey Council.

Statutory Approvals – Pipeline (Planning, Listed Building Consent and Advert Consent)

A report was scheduled to provide an update on projects requiring statutory approval. These included the Creative Campus and Heritage Hub: Phase 1, which encompasses the North East Office Building, Theatre Courtyard, and Transmitter Hall. This project aims to create a hub for Creative Learning activities, office and studio space, and a publicly accessible archive studio, along with landscaping improvements. The Visitor Experience Improvements Project, focusing on enhancing toilet facilities, was also to be discussed, with a feasibility study examining several options for new facilities. Additionally, the West Yard Shutter Upgrade, involving the replacement of a single shutter with two smaller ones for improved security and efficiency, was on the agenda. All projects were subject to funding being secured and relevant permissions being granted.
