The Cabinet Member Signing meeting on Tuesday 15 September 2026 confirmed arrangements for a job-sharing Cabinet Member role for Health and Social Care and appointed members to the Corporate Parenting Advisory Committee and Community Safety Partnership. Arrangements for Job Share of Cabinet Member Portfolio for Health and Social Care

The meeting confirmed the arrangements for a job-sharing role for the Cabinet Member portfolio for Health and Social Care. This decision formalises a six-month rotational arrangement between Councillor Tehseen Khan and Councillor Hannah Ward. Councillor Khan will serve as the decision-making Cabinet Member for Adults and Health from 21 May to 24 November 2026, with Councillor Ward acting in an advisory, non-decision-making capacity during this period. Subsequently, Councillor Ward will become the decision-making Cabinet Member from 24 November 2026 to 17 May 2027, with Councillor Khan taking on the advisory role. This arrangement ensures that the council adheres to the statutory limit of ten decision-making portfolio roles within the Cabinet, while allowing both councillors to gain experience and oversight of the portfolio's responsibilities. The voluntary special responsibility allowance for this role will be split equally between the two councillors.

Appointment of Membership for the Corporate Parenting Committee and Community Safety Partnership 2026/27

The meeting also agreed the membership for the Corporate Parenting Advisory Committee and the Community Safety Partnership for the 2026/27 municipal year. The establishment of the Corporate Parenting Advisory Committee aims to provide an overview of the council's statutory role as a corporate parent, ensuring the well-being and development of children in care and young people leaving care. The Community Safety Partnership, a statutory body, will benefit from the appointment of Cabinet Members to provide high-level oversight of community safety issues in partnership with the police and other agencies. Appendix A of the reports pack details the appointed members for both committees. Councillor Mark Blake is listed as the Chair of the Corporate Parenting Advisory Committee, alongside Councillors Nelly Tackie, Georgia Twigg, Seema Chandwani, Mark Grosskopf, Sarah Williams, and Imad Ahmed. Councillor Ata Berk-Aksit will chair the Community Safety Partnership, with Councillor Dixie-Ann Joseph and Councillor Andrew Reid also appointed as members. The partnership also includes representatives from statutory partners such as the Metropolitan Police, Haringey Fire Service, and various council departments.
