The Planning Committee of South Holland Council met on Wednesday, 12 June 2024, to discuss various planning applications and updates. Key decisions included the refusal of a proposed holiday lodge development in Tydd Gote and the approval of listed building consent for works at Ayscoughfee Hall in Spalding.

Proposed Holiday Lodges and Yoga Buildings at Tydd Gote

The committee considered a full application by Mr S Necker for the construction of holiday lodges and yoga buildings at land north of 29 Station Road, Tydd Gote, Wisbech. The application was refused due to concerns about the amenity of access for users of the site and the residential impact on neighbouring properties. Richard Wright, a local resident, spoke against the proposal, while Liam Lunn-Towler, the agent, supported it. The decision to refuse was moved by Councillor Barnes and seconded by Councillor Redgate.

Listed Building Consent for Ayscoughfee Hall

Two applications for listed building consent at Ayscoughfee Hall in Spalding were approved. The first application, submitted by South Holland District Council, was for the installation of a French drain and associated works to the Spalding War Memorial at Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens. The second application was for the installation of a CCTV camera and transformer box at the same location. Both applications were approved subject to the conditions outlined in the respective reports. Councillor Ashby provided comments as a ward member on the second application and did not vote.

Proposed Telecommunications Mast in Crowland

The committee approved a telecom determination application by Circet UK Limited for the installation of a telecommunications mast and associated works at Pinnacle Close Industrial Units, Crowland, Peterborough. The decision was made in light of prevailing policies and guidance, and the application was approved subject to the conditions outlined in the report.

The Development Manager provided an update on recent planning appeal decisions. The committee noted the report without further discussion.
