The Staffing Committee met to interview candidates for the vacant Director of Return on Investment (ROI) role and ultimately decided to offer the position to Mark Brickell, pending the appropriate checks.

Appointment of the Director of Return on Investment

The Staffing Committee interviewed candidates for the role of Director of Return on Investment (ROI).

The role had become vacant when the previous postholder was appointed to the role of Strategic Director of Resource in April 2023.

Following the interview, the Committee decided to offer the role to Mark Brickell. The appointment was subject to the appropriate background checks and confirmation from the Cabinet that they had no material or well-founded objections to the appointment.

The Director of ROI leads the following teams within the Finance & Governance directorate:

• Procurement
• Insurance & Risk Management
• Social Value and Social ROI
• Commercial Innovation

The postholder will be responsible for a budget of £10 million. The Director of ROI will report to the Strategic Director of Resources, Rob Manning, and will deputise for him when required.
