Revenue Budget 2025/26

A joint report by the Chamberlain, the Town Clerk and the City Remembrancer included for discussion by the committee proposed the City of London's revenue budget for 2025/26. The report highlighted that:

The City Corporation has a strong track record in managing its finances and delivering value for money. However, the current economic climate is challenging, with high inflation and interest rates.

The report went on to say:

It is important that we use our resources wisely to deliver our priorities and protect our financial sustainability.

Livery Cloth Grant

The committee was scheduled to discuss whether to award the annual Livery Cloth grant of £1,700. The agenda for the meeting included a progress report from Providence Row, who were the recipients of the grant last year. The report described how Providence Row had used the grant to support homeless people in the City of London.

Appointments to Outside Bodies

The Committee was scheduled to decide whether to appoint two Aldermen to the Committee of Aldermen to administer the Sir William Coxen Trust Fund, and to approve the appointment of an Alderman to the City & Guilds of London Institute.

Destination City

The committee was scheduled to receive a presentation on the Destination City programme.

Financial Services Group of Livery Companies (FSG)

The committee was also scheduled to receive the 2024 Mayoral and City Briefing from the Financial Services Group of Livery Companies (FSG).
