Hate Crime Scrutiny Review Progress Report

The committee was scheduled to receive a report on progress made against the recommendations of a previous scrutiny review into hate crime.

The report, which was prepared by Bradford Hate Crime Alliance and the Stronger Communities Team, was to focus on the period April 2023 to September 2024.

The report was to describe how different agencies in Bradford planned to address the recommendations in the Hate Crime Scrutiny Review.

The report stated that:

This report provides a detailed response to the recommendations. It highlights the Hate Crime work undertaken between April 2023 to September 2024. A new Hate Crime Delivery Plan with milestones has been produced illustrating the progress being made to support delivery of the Hate Crime Strategy.

The report included information about the number of hate crime incidents recorded by West Yorkshire Police. It also provided a detailed account of what had been done in response to each of the recommendations.

Work Programme 2024/25

The committee was also scheduled to consider a report on the proposed work programme for the committee for the 2024/25 municipal year.

The report explained that:

The Council constitution requires all Overview and Scrutiny Committees to produce a work programme.

The report included a list of proposed agenda items for each meeting of the committee in the 2024/25 municipal year. It also included a list of unscheduled topics that the committee could choose to add to its work programme.
