The Appointments Sub Committee met to decide which candidates to invite for an interview for the permanent post of Director of Regeneration, Housing Supply and Assets. Following a discussion of the candidates' performance in technical interviews, the committee agreed to progress a number of the candidates to the next stage of the process.

Urgent Consideration

The committee noted that the agenda for the meeting was not published with the required notice period. This was because it was necessary to confirm member availability at short notice, and because the consultant's report that was to be discussed at the meeting was not available until shortly before it began.

The Sub-Committee agreed to continue due to the risk that further delay could have implications for the successful completion of the process.

Councillor Abdi Mohamed was unhappy that the agenda supplement had been published at such short notice, and requested that this be avoided in future.

Shortlisting for the Post of Director of Regeneration, Housing Supply and Assets

The committee reviewed a report from Penna, the recruitment consultants, on the candidates who had participated in technical interviews for the post of Director of Regeneration, Housing Supply and Assets. This post has been filled on an interim basis since October 2024.

The committee discussed the applications, and agreed on a shortlist of candidates to be invited to a final interview. The names of the shortlisted candidates are not recorded in the published minutes.
