The Hampstead Heath Consultative Committee met to discuss a range of topics related to the management and conservation of Hampstead Heath, including updates on fundraising, asset management, and ongoing projects. Natural Environment Charity Review

The committee was scheduled to receive updates on two key workstreams of the Natural Environment Charity Review (NECR): fundraising and asset management.

• Fundraising Update: The committee was scheduled to hear about the engagement of fundraising consultants, The Transform Partnership, and their work to analyse fundraising potential across all sites, identify viable income streams, and define the structure for a permanent fundraising team. The committee was also scheduled to discuss Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) and the potential for income generation at Natural Environment sites.
• Hampstead Heath Charity Assets Update: The committee was scheduled to discuss an audit of land assets owned by the City of London Corporation (CoLC) as trustee of the Hampstead Heath Charity. The report was expected to summarise the processes used to audit the land assets and maintain the asset register. The committee was also scheduled to note a list of charity land assets of the Hampstead Heath Charity.

Assistant Director's Report

The committee was scheduled to receive an update from the Assistant Director on matters relating to Hampstead Heath since the last meeting. The report was expected to align with the four strategic themes and ten priorities of the Hampstead Heath Management Strategy, covering topics such as habitat maintenance, heritage preservation, visitor activities, and social inclusion.

The report also included an update from the City Surveyor's Department on key projects across North London Open Spaces (NLOS), including capital projects at the Kenwood Ladies' Pond, fencing works, drainage works, and electrical enhancements at Parliament Hill Lido.

Heath Hands Update

The committee was scheduled to receive a report from Heath Hands, summarising the charity's main activities on North London Open Spaces. The report was expected to cover Heath Hands' strategic objectives related to conservation, community engagement, learning, and wellbeing.

Other Business

The committee was scheduled to discuss the minutes of the previous meeting, as well as any other business that the chair, Alderman & Sheriff Gregory Jones KC, considered urgent. There was also an opportunity for members to ask questions on matters relating to the work of the committee.
