The Court of Aldermen met on Wednesday 2 July 2025, at the Mansion House. The meeting was scheduled to include a presentation of Letters Patent confirming the Grant of Livery to the Worshipful Company of Nurses. The Aldermen were also asked to assemble in the Long Parlour to robe in Scarlet gowns before the meeting.
Presentation of Letters Patent to the Worshipful Company of Nurses
The main item on the agenda was the presentation of Letters Patent to the Worshipful Company of Nurses1 confirming the grant of Livery agreeably to the Order of the Court of 15 May 2023.
The order of events for the presentation was scheduled to be as follows:
- The Aldermen were asked to assemble in the Long Parlour where Scarlet gowns would be available.
- The Aldermen, accompanied by the Officers, would then proceed to the Old Ballroom where the Court of Aldermen would be held.
- The Master, the Wardens and the Clerk of the Worshipful Company of Nurses, having been brought in and announced by the Common Cryer, would take their seats inside the Bar of the Court, with other representatives of the Company taking seats at the Bar of the Court.
- The Town Clerk would announce the occasion of the meeting and read the Order of the Court for the grant of Livery to the Company.
- The Chamberlain of London would read the Letters Patent confirming the grant of Livery.
- The Master would advance to the Table where The Rt Hon. The Lord Mayor, Alastair John Naisbitt King DL ( Alderman) would address the Master and Wardens and present to the Master the Letters Patent confirming the grant of Livery to the Company.
- The Master would advance to The Rt Hon. The Lord Mayor, Alastair John Naisbitt King DL ( Alderman) to receive the document and then return to the end of the Table before replying on behalf of the Company.
- At the conclusion of the Court of Aldermen The Rt Hon. The Lord Mayor, Alastair John Naisbitt King DL ( Alderman) would escort the Master from the Old Ballroom, followed by the Wardens and the Clerk.
- The Aldermen and the Officers would leave the Old Ballroom in procession and proceed to the Long Parlour.
- After the Ceremony, the Master and Wardens would receive their guests in the Livery Hall, Guildhall.
