The Appointments Committee convened to consider candidates for the position of Assistant Director, Adult Services, and ultimately decided to advance candidates 79847, 79843, and 79818 for assessment. Appointment of Assistant Director - Adult Services

The main purpose of the meeting was to consider the longlisting of candidates for the Assistant Director, Adult Services position. The committee reviewed four applications, assessing each candidate against the essential competencies outlined in the [Behavioural Competency Framework][Behavioural Competency Framework.pdf] and Role Profile.

The [Recruitment Pack][Recruitment Pack.pdf] detailed the responsibilities of the role, which include:

• Leading a team of managers.
• Strategic oversight and development of Adult Social Services, Independent Living and Preventative Services, and Adult Safeguarding.
• Overseeing the Housing Support Programme.
• Commissioning and quality monitoring of care and support services.

The pack also outlined the desired qualities of the successful candidate, including outstanding leadership, strong partnership and collaboration skills, and a passion for delivering excellent customer-focused services.

The committee resolved to advance candidates 79847, 79843, and 79818 for assessment.

The committee noted its terms of reference, which include the appointment and dismissal of Chief Officers and Deputy Chief Officers, as defined in the Local Authorities (Standing Orders) (Wales) Regulations 2006, and the statutory Head of Democratic Services, in accordance with the Employment Procedure Rules and any other relevant Council policies and procedures.
