The Alexandra Park and Palace Statutory Advisory Committee (SAC) were scheduled to meet on 17 July 2025 to discuss the Alexandra Park and Palace Charitable Trust's (APPCT) progress in the new financial year, receive feedback from the Joint Statutory Advisory and Consultative Committee meeting, and note the dates of future meetings. The committee was also expected to review the minutes from previous meetings, and hear updates from Emma Dagnes OBE, Chief Executive of Alexandra Park & Palace, on the organisation's vision and goals.

Chief Executive's Vision and Goals Update

Emma Dagnes OBE, Chief Executive of Alexandra Park & Palace, was scheduled to provide an update on the progress made towards the Trust's vision to Create a Sustainable Home for All That We Do. The update was expected to cover several key areas:

• Entertainment and Culture: The Alexandra Palace was awarded the Attitude is Everything Platinum Award, recognising it as an industry leader in accessibility alongside the O2 and the Southbank Centre. The report also mentions a buoyant and diverse live music program including a sold-out run from Kaytranada, the StrEATlife food and drink event, corporate events, theatre performances, and the installation of a jumbotron scoreboard in the ice rink.
• Climate Change Resilience: Alexandra Palace is working towards the first level of the Theatre Green Book, an industry initiative for sustainable practices. Discussions with the Greater London Authority (GLA) are ongoing regarding net zero strategies, with applications submitted for the Zero Carbon Accelerator Scheme (ZCA) and the Green Finance Fund (GFF). A grant from the Haringey Community Carbon Fund was awarded to install secondary double glazing and draft proofing in the old station building (CUFOS).
• Heritage Assets: Conservation work continues on the east-facing façade, including the removal of cement-based materials and reinstatement of breathable lime mortar. Surveys have been conducted for structural remedial works on the North Bridge, and significant glazing repairs have been completed on the roof of the Great Hall. The team is also restoring and replacing heritage Windsor Park lamps with energy-efficient LED units. CCTV infrastructure is being upgraded, and cabling is being protected from solar damage. Artist Ricardo Cinalli conserved paintings in the Londesborough Room.
• Green Lung for London: The Friends of the Park have been undertaking Woodland Quality Assessment, and The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) have been delivering habitat improvement works. Tree work has been carried out, and missing bollards have been replaced. Improvements have been made to the Muswell Hill pedestrian entrance, and the Grove café has a new tenant, Conscientious Coffee.
• Archives and Stories: Recent research and community-informed narratives were co-curated for a display marking the 1875 Theatre anniversary. The Trust is supporting new research by enabling access to architectural archives plans & records on the CUFOS building. The organisation is also actively participating in a workshop with Campsbourne Collective, building local cultural connections. A donation relating to the 1985 (Sir Clive) Sinclair C5 launch was acquired for the archive.
• Community Engagement: The Young Actors Company welcomed 45 young people, and a Performing Arts School is preparing for its annual showcase. A Community Curatorial Team developed a performance installation, and school visits offer volunteer-led tours. The Palace Uncovered project explores the history of refugee culture.
• Overall Resilience: New opportunities for individual donors have been launched, including the Founding Ally Pally Patrons program. The team expects decisions from trust funders for support towards Creative Learning and was awarded support through the Haringey Community Carbon Fund. The team continues to define the scope of the next phase of Alexandra Palace's restoration.
• Derelict Spaces: A formal thank you event to Historic England took place for the North East Office Building (NEOB) Repair Project. Work continues preparing for the next stage of the project, which is focused on securing development phase funding to progress the plans to transform the building into a creative learning hub.
• New Partnerships: The BBC Concert Orchestra (BBC CO) has officially confirmed their partnership with Alexandra Palace as the Palace's first Associate Orchestra.
• Great Place to Work: A comprehensive three-year implementation plan is underway, aligning closely with the 10-year goal to create a great place to work. In September 2025, the organisation will launch its first Apprenticeship Pilot, supporting a Trainee Building Surveyor.

The committee was expected to formalise any feedback to the Trustee Board arising from discussions in the Joint Statutory Advisory and Consultative Committee meeting.
