The Bradford District Appeals Panel were scheduled to meet on Thursday 4 September 2025 to discuss disclosures of interest, inspection of reports and background papers, and to consider whether to exclude the public from the meeting during a discussion of education appeals. The panel was also scheduled to consider appeals for assistance with travel.
Exclusion of the Public
The panel were scheduled to consider excluding the public from the meeting during the discussion of education appeals. According to the agenda, this was because of the likelihood that, were the public present, exempt information within Paragraph 1 (Information Relating to an Individual) of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) would be disclosed.
The agenda stated that:
It is in the overriding public interest that parties to a review / appeal concerning their entitlement to provision of transport should have a right to confidentiality of process given that the appeal panel will need to consider the specific personal circumstances of the appellant.
Education Appeals Panel
The panel were scheduled to consider appeals for assistance with travel as set out in Not for Publication (NFP) Documents. The relevant officer to contact for further information was named in the agenda as Liam Casey.
Disclosures of Interest
The agenda included an item for members to disclose any interests, according to Part 4A of the council's constitution1. The agenda explained the types of interest and what a member must do if they have such an interest.
