The Members' Written Questions meeting of Plymouth City Council on 26 September 2025 was scheduled to address a question regarding funding for Pounds House. Councillor Dylan Tippetts submitted a question to the Cabinet Member, asking about the whereabouts of funds previously allocated for the restoration of Pounds House, given that the property was now being sold. The Cabinet Member's written response was included in the report pack.

Pounds House Funding

Councillor Dylan Tippetts asked about the £1.82 million that was announced in 2021 for the restoration of Pounds House, and which appeared in the 2022 and 2023 council budgets. He noted that Pounds House was now being sold off, and asked where the money had gone.

The Cabinet Member's response stated that:

The capital budget for the maintenance and refurbishment of Pounds House was removed from the programme in early 2025 through the Council's capital governance process. This was done as part of a wider decision to market the property for sale and disposal. The removal of budget was reported to Cabinet in May 2025 as part of the provisional capital outturn report, within a wider total quarterly variation figure of £4.115m.

The report referenced page 16 of the Cabinet's May 2025 provisional capital outturn report, which is available on this link.
