Summary
The Taxi Licensing Committee of Plymouth Council is scheduled to meet on Monday 13 October 2025. The committee, including Councillor Keith Moore, Chair of the Taxi Licensing Committee, and Councillor Anne Freeman, Vice-Chair of the Taxi Licensing Committee, will be considering appeal cases, certificates of good conduct, and the status of several private hire vehicle licences. A portion of the meeting will be held in private to discuss specific licensing reviews.
Private Hire Vehicle Licences
The committee is scheduled to review the status of several private hire vehicle licences. According to the agenda, these reviews will be conducted in a closed session, as they involve exempt information
as defined by the Local Government Act 19721 and the Freedom of Information Act 20002.
Specifically, the committee will consider the following:
- Review Status of a Private Hire Vehicle Drivers Licence and Private Hire Vehicle Licence
- Review Status of a Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licence
- Review Status of a Private Hire Vehicle Driver Licence and Private Hire Vehicle Licence
The reports pack notes that the information pertaining to these reviews is restricted because it relates to exempt or confidential matters
under the Local Government Act 1972, and that any breach of confidentiality could potentially prejudice the council, individuals, or bodies involved.
Appeal Cases and Certificates of Good Conduct
The committee will be provided with the results of judgements on appeal cases that went to court. Additionally, the committee will be provided with the number of certificates of good conduct exemptions granted.
