The Employment and Appointments Committee met to discuss the appointment of a Director of Education and Achievement. The committee was scheduled to interview candidates for the role and potentially make a decision on the appointment. Any offer of employment would be subject to the Executive Notification Procedure outlined in the council's constitution.
Appointment of Director of Education and Achievement
The Employment and Appointments Committee were scheduled to discuss the appointment of a Director of Education and Achievement for Islington Council.
The report pack included a recommendation for the committee to:
1.1. To appoint a candidate to the post of Director of Education and Achievement;
1.2. To note the advertised salary for the post and agree the final salary at which, or the parameters within which, the successful candidate should be offered the post;
1.3. To note that any offer of employment will be subject to the completion of the Executive Notification Procedure.
The report stated that the salary range for the post had been advertised as Grade CO2 £120,456 - £135,958, and that the salary would come from existing budgets.
The Officer Employment Procedure Rules in the Constitution would be followed, requiring members of the Executive to be notified of the proposed appointment, with an opportunity to raise objections.
The new Director of Education and Achievement would be expected to support the delivery of the Islington Together 2030 Plan1.
